Court-martial proceedings for the Third Brigade (Walterboro, S.C.), 1844 June 24-July 24.

Court martial proceedings against members of the Third Brigade of the South Carolina Militia, commanded by Brigadier General Paul Quattlebaum (1812-1890). The Third Brigade included soldiers from the Eleventh to Fifteenth Regiments and the Forty-Third Regiment. Although most offenses against soldiers are not described, it appears that most men had failed to report for duty; proceedings list men as either "fined or excused" of the charges. Fines range from five to fifty dollars.
